Abstract

This research aims to conduct a study on the effect of library facilities on people's reading interest in the library and archives of Sungai Penuh city. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The selection of respondents in this study came from the community who visited the Sungai Penuh City Library and Archives. The research instrument is the researcher himself and data collection through questionnaires. The data analysis technique in this study used a Likers scale analysis tool. The Effect of Library Facilities on Public Reading Interest in Libraries and Archives of Sungai Penuh City includes library facilities consisting of indicators of location, construction / building conditions and room arrangement. Reading interest which consists of stimulating brain cells, fostering creativity and helping to express thoughts. The Effect of Library Facilities on Public Reading Interest in the Library and Archives of Sungai Penuh City. Then the conclusion is the effect of library facilities on people's reading interest in the Library and Archives of Sungai Penuh City by 14.44% of the library facilities at Sungai Penuh City Library and Archives have an influence on people's reading interest while 85.56% has other influences that the authors do not discuss in this writing.
