This thesis is made with the title "The Influence of Career Development on Job Satisfaction through Motivation in the Regional Finance Agency of Sungai Penuh City". The objectives of this study are 1) To determine the direct effect of career development on employee motivation at BAKEUDA Sungai Penuh City. 2) To determine the direct effect of career development on employee job satisfaction at BAKEUDA Sungai Penuh City. 3) To determine the direct effect of employee motivation on employee job satisfaction at BAKEUDA Sungai Penuh City. 4) To determine the indirect effect of career development on employee job satisfaction through motivation at BAKEUDA Sungai Penuh City. Data collection is carried out through distributing questionnaires. Data analysis in this research is quantitative data analysis. Sampling using saturated sampling technique, namely 38 respondents as a sample. The analytical tool in this study uses multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 20. Path analysis is used to measure the size of the effect of career development on job satisfaction through motivation. The results showed that from the analysis of the influence of career development (x1) on motivation (x2),the value of tcount = 1.633, at sign = 0.113, thus the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a direct effect of career development (x1) on motivation (x2) . based on the analysis of the influence of career development (x1) On job satisfacation (y), the value of tcount =43.192 with a sign of 0,000 is abtained thus the hypothesis is accepted , so it can be concluded that there is a direct effect of career ddepelopment (x1) on job satisfacation (Y). analysis of the influence of motivation (x2) on job satisfacation abtained tcount =1.481 with a sign of 0.149 thus the hypothesis is accepted so it can be concluded that there is a direct effect of motivation (x2) on job satisfacation (y) . from the analysis of the indirect effect of career development (x1) on job satisfacation (y) troughmotivation (x2) the value of tcount =1.6973 is greater than ttable =1.6909 at sign a = 0.05. so it can be concluded that there is an indirect effect of career development (x1) on job satisfacation (y) trough motivation (x2)
