Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology and the development of situations from various aspects of people's lives that are increasingly complex, have resulted in the lagging of Security Intelligence in detecting and anticipating various security problems that arise, so to anticipate these conditions, it is required to develop systems related to Technical Intelligence, especially in the field of detection. Intelligence, Intelligence communication and Intelligence security are supported by adequate human resources. In the study of the Effectiveness Analysis of the Use of Intelligence and Security Equipment in Supporting the Performance of Intelligence Functions at the Kerinci Police. Based on the formulation of the problem, the aim of this research is to identify the effectiveness of the use of intelligence equipment currently available, both in terms of quantity and quality in the intelligence unit area of ??the Kerinci Police. This study uses a qualitative data approach, using data sourced from interviews and literature studies. Data were analyzed using reduction and triangulation methods. The results of the study, namely in terms of quantity, the number of intelligence and security equipment is currently still minimal. In terms of quality it is still good. So it is necessary to increase the number of intelligence equipment in accordance with the number of personnel in the field. And the need for training to improve the competence of personnel so that the tool can be used properly.
