Abstract

This research is motivated by an interesting figure to observe because he succeeded in winning the Regional Head Election contest in Pesisir Selatan Regency in 2020. Candidates who are considered "one-sided" by their political opponents. It is natural for people's perceptions to be like that, because there is still a strong patriarchal culture in the country of Indonesia, especially in the Province of West Sumatra in forming public opinion. Yul Anwar-Rudi Hariansyah himself appeared during the last minutes of the closing of the Regent candidate registration. From the results of data analysis that Political Communicator is a strategy that is practiced in the field is in accordance with theory, meaning that political communication strategy is a way that is practiced to achieve predetermined goals.
