Abstract

This study aims to see the potential and obstacles in paragliding activities in Pendung hills, Air Warm sub-district. whether paragliding activities in Bukit Pendung are safer and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

               The method used in this research is qualitative because each narration and perspective of each resource person cannot be approached by statistical procedures, the data collection steps are carried out through interviews, observations, documentation and literature studies. The results of interviews, documentation, observations and literature studies are used as a summary which is a conclusion to describe the condition of Paragliding Tourism Potential in Bukit Pendung, Air Hangat District.

               The results of this study where data has been obtained that Bukit Pendung can be recommended as a location for paragliding activities where the Take Off Area, Landing Area is quite good and can meet predetermined standards, wind and weather conditions are also quite good at certain times this becomes a very good opportunity to make the location of the cloudy hill the main location for paragliding activities in Kerinci Regency. However, there are several obstacles that still need attention and improvements must be made, especially supporting facilities and infrastructure such as roads, toilets, prayer rooms, flying equipment and other needs that must be built so that paragliding enthusiasts can feel comfortable in carrying out activities on Bukit Pendung, besides the quality Human Resources (HR) Pilots or pilots must also be improved through training activities.
