Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out how the role and function of the secretary in assisting the leadership at the Personnel and Human Resources Development (BKPSDM) Kerinci Regency. This study used qualitative research with the teqnique of collection dath were interview, observation and library reserach . Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive analysis.. The results of the study indicate that the role and function of a secretary is really needed by the leadership in carrying out duties at the Kerinci Regency BKPSDM office where the role of a secretary includes (1) as an intermediary or communication channel and source of information, (2) alternative thoughts from the leadership, (3) as a housewife for the organization, (4) as a secret guard, providing motivation to subordinate employees,(5) as a supporter of success and (6) progress at the Office of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Kerinci Regency. While the functions of a secretary include: handling administrative tasks, managing, conveying, selecting and handling information, compiling a leadership schedule, coordinating with teams, carrying out tasks in the fields of planning, general administration, personnel administration and finance.
