This thesis was made with the title "The Effect of Work Family Conflict on Work Stress Through Organizational Commitment in the Housing, Settlement and Land Office of Sungai Penuh City". The objectives of this study are 1) To determine the direct effect of work family conflict on organizational commitment to the Department of Housing, Settlement and Land Affairs in Sungai Penuh City. 2) To determine the direct effect of work family conflict on work stress at the Department of Housing, Settlement and Land Affairs in Sungai Penuh City. 3) To determine the direct effect of organizational commitment on work stress at the Department of Housing, Settlement and Land in Sungai Penuh City. 4) To determine the indirect effect of work family conflict on work stress through organizational commitment to the Department of Housing, Settlement and Land Affairs in Sungai Penuh City. Data collection is done through the distribution of questionnaires. Data analysis in this study is quantitative data analysis. Sampling using saturated sampling technique, namely 45 respondents as a sample. The analytical tool in this study uses multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 20. The results showed that the Effect of Work Family Conflict (X1) on Organizational Commitment (X2) obtained a value of tcount = -1.644, at sign = 0.107 thus the hypothesis was rejected. The effect of Work Family Conflict (X1) on Work Stress (Y) obtained tcount = -1.370 with a sign of 0.178 thus the hypothesis is rejected. The effect of Organizational Commitment (X2) on Work Stress (Y) obtained a value of tcount = 59.685 with a sign of 0.000 thus the hypothesis is accepted. The indirect effect of Work Family Conflict (X1) on Work Stress (Y) through Organizational Commitment (X2), the value of tcount = -1.64309 is smaller than ttable = 2.01669 at sign = 0.05.
