Abstract

The Strategy Of The Trasportation Departement In Tackling Illegal Parking On The Edge Of Public Roads Sungai Penuh City. The problem of this research is about illegal parking on the side of the public road in Sungai Penuh City which is caused by the limited public roadside parking space due to the provision for parking on the side of the public road. Parking officers who take advantage of illegal parking locations lack coordination between relevant agencies and parking rates are not in accordance with established regulations. The purpose of the study was to determine and analyze the strategy of the Sungai Penuh City Transportation Service in tackling illegal parking on the side of the Sungai Penuh City public road. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research method with 7 informants. Sources of data in this study are primary data obtained through interviews and observations and secondary data obtained from documents related to this research. The results of the study stated that the Department of Transportation in tackling illegal parking has not been effective due to the lack of parking space and the lack of socialization from the Department of Transportation regarding illegal parking on the edge of public roads. It is expected to provide great benefits in overcoming the limited parking space and tackling the emergence of illegal parking. In addition, the granting of a building permit must also be accompanied by a requirement that the building has sufficient land to be used as a parking location.
