Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of competence and training on performance. either directly or indirectly at the Depati Tujuh sub-district office. This research uses quantitative methods, with exogenous variables namely competency variables (X1), training intervening variables (X2), and endogenous variables namely performance (Y). The population of this study is all 22 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) at the Depati Tujuh sub-district office. The data analysis technique used is path analysis and is divided into 2 paths, namely sub structure 1 and sub structure 2. Data were collected through questionnaires. The research findings show that: 1) There is a significant direct effect of competence on training, where the contribution value obtained is 0.522 or 52.2% with a significance of 0.000. 2) There is a significant direct influence of competence on performance, where the contribution value obtained is 0.238 or 23.8% with a significance of 0.000. 3) There is a significant direct effect of training on performance, where the contribution value obtained is 0.259 or 25.9% with a significance of 0.000. 4) There is an indirect effect of competence on performance through training significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.179 or 17.9%
