Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and morale on performance. either directly or indirectly at the office of the Air Hangat Timur sub-district head. This research uses a quantitative method, with exogenous variables namely leadership variables (X1), intervening variable morale (X2), and endogenous variables namely performance (Y). The population of this study is all 22 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) at the Air Hangat Timur sub-district office. The data analysis technique used is path analysis and is divided into 2 paths, namely sub structure 1 and sub structure 2. Data were collected through questionnaires. The research findings show that: 1) There is a significant direct influence of leadership on morale, where the contribution value is 0.369 or 36.9% with a significance of 0.000. 2) There is a direct influence of work morale on performance significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.077 or 7.7% with a significance of 0.000. 3) There is a direct influence of work morale on performance significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 529 or 52.9% with a significance of 0.000. 4) There is an indirect influence of leadership on performance through work morale significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.123 or 12.3%
