Abstract

This research was conducted at the Kerinci Police Criminal Investigation Unit. This study aims to: first, to determine the effect of competence and commitment of investigators simultaneously or partially on the settlement of family/victim complaints in handling cases by members of the Kerinci Criminal Investigation Police. Second, to find out how much influence the competence and commitment of investigators simultaneously or partially have on solving family/victim complaints in handling cases by members of the Kerinci Criminal Police. Third, to find out which variable is the most dominant in influencing the competence and commitment of investigators simultaneously or partially to the resolution of family/victim complaints in handling cases by members of the Kerinci Criminal Police. This study used a sample of 40 respondents, using quantitative methods. The analysis used is parametric statistical data analysis techniques. The results of this study prove that competence has a significant effect on the settlement of complaints by victims' families in case handling by members of the Kerinci Police Criminal Investigation Unit, and commitment has no significant effect on the resolution of complaints on victims' families in handling cases by members of the Kerinci Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
