Abstract

This study aims to determine the Fire Disaster Management Strategy. This type of research is qualitative research, the technique of sorting informants in this study is purposive, collecting data by interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions, while the validity of the data using source, technique and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Fire socialization and education have been carried out well. It can be seen that the fire department has carried out socialization and training to educate the public, and has also established a Village Fire Service as a form of community participation in efforts to prevent fires. Monitoring of Disaster-Prone Areas has been carried out in accordance with operational standards and applicable regulations. Patrols and Mobile Broadcasts have also been carried out well by the Kerinci district fire department, but mobile broadcasting activities should synergize with the community and related agencies so that programs and activities can run smoothly based on standards or programs that have been set by the Kerinci District Fire Service. Inspection of Fire Protection It can be seen that the fire department has also implemented regulations and coordinated with related parties for inspection of fire protection such as government and private buildings. However, the fire department does not pay much attention to fire protection or fire support facilities such as hydrants which are not available in every village. 2) Facilities and infrastructure are still categorized as Not Good, it can be seen that the Fire Department still lacks tools and facilities to support fire disaster management. Human Resources are also still in the Not Good category, Fire Management Regulations according to rules and current SOPs have been implemented well, but for team support facilities that do not meet the standards, this should be emphasized by the head of the lower unit so that the completeness of the regulations is being strived to be improved. The synergy of firefighters is based on SOPs. and Strategies in dealing with fires by firefighters are also based on standards or programs that have been set by the Kerinci District Fire Department.
