Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the division of labor and compensation on performance. either directly or indirectly the Kerinci Regency Population and Civil Registration Service. This research uses quantitative methods, with exogenous variables namely Total Division of Labor (X1), compensation intervening variables (X2), and endogenous variables namely Performance (Y). The population of this study is all 32 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) at the Kerinci Regency Population and Civil Registration Service. The data analysis technique used is path analysis and is divided into 2 paths, namely sub structure 1 and sub structure 2. Data collected through questionnaires, The research findings show that: 1) There is a significant direct effect of the division of labor on compensation, where the contribution value obtained is 0.187 or 18.7% with a significance of 0.000. 2) There is a direct influence of the division of labor on performance significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.432 or 43.2% with a significance of 0.000. 3) There is a direct effect of compensation on performance significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.064 or 6.4% with a significance of 0.000. 4) There is an indirect effect of the division of labor on performance through compensation significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.072 or 7.2%
