Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and motivation on performance. either directly or indirectly in the office of the Head of Air Warm Head. This research uses quantitative methods, with exogenous variables namely leadership variables (X1), motivational intervening variables (X2), and endogenous variables namely performance (Y). The population of this study is all 27 State Civil Apparatuses (ASN) at the Depati Tujuh sub-district office. The data analysis technique used is path analysis and is divided into 2 paths, namely sub structure 1 and sub structure 2. Data were collected through questionnaires. The research findings show that: 1) There is a significant direct influence of leadership on performance, where the contribution value obtained is 0.431 or 43.1% with a significance of 0.000. 2) There is a significant direct influence of leadership on performance, where the contribution value obtained is 0.121 or 12.1% with a significance of 0.000. 3) There is a significant direct effect of motivation on performance, where the contribution value obtained is 0.414 or 41.4% with a significance of 0.000. 4) There is an indirect influence of leadership on performance through motivation significantly, where the contribution value obtained is 0.147 or 14.7%
