Abstract
The millennial generation and first-time voters are expected to become the largest percentage of voters in the 2024 election. To further develop Indonesian democracy, we need to maximize this potential to improve the quality of human resources in facing the challenges of the computerized era. Differences in education levels lead to social, economic, and political inequalities, including access to sources of information, resulting in apathy and pragmatism among the younger generation. The lack of civil political education is a dilemma and a logical consequence when the country wants quality elections. The use of Internet media in the digital era has now become popular among young people. Through PCs and cell phones, the younger generation can explore cyberspace to fulfill their needs such as looking for information and entertainment. In the context of new media, users play a dynamic role in both obtaining data and transmitting data. Facing the 2024 elections, the younger generation, especially first-time voters, will be faced with information available via the Internet, especially during election campaigns. The capacity of the younger generation or amateur voters to channel news and/or use it as a reference during the campaign period requires media proficiency competence which is called person capacity, namely a person's capacity to utilize and abuse the media, seen from individual capacity and social capacity.
